Semarang, 08  February 2025 | Children are the future of a nation, deserving a decent life and opportunities to thrive. However, many are born into underprivileged families, inheriting not only financial struggles but also challenges in mental well-being. This pressing issue inspired the “Miracle On Your Eyes” event, themed “Hearts for Hope: Together We Protect the Mental Health of Street Children.” The initiative was carried out by U-Go Community Semarang in collaboration with the Anantaka Cultural Trust Foundation.

Held under the concept of peer counseling, the event featured interactive games, educational sessions using hand puppets, dream-drawing activities, and an inspiring film screening about the importance of kindness and compassion. Children aged 3 to 16 were divided into small groups, each guided by facilitators who led discussions and engaging activities to encourage participation.

The main goal of this event was to provide care and support to street children, raise awareness about the importance of mental health, and nurture self-confidence and optimism for a better future. The children enthusiastically drew their aspirations and dreams, proudly explaining their artwork—each picture reflecting their hope for a brighter tomorrow.

The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the best-performing groups, followed by the distribution of flowers to each participant as a symbol of love and appreciation.

Through this initiative, U-Go Community Semarang hopes to take the first step in increasing attention to the mental health of street children. The movement aims to build awareness that every child deserves love, care, and a promising future.
