Jakarta, April 21, 2025 — On a night filled with meaning and momentum, 55 U-Go scholarship recipients from Jakarta and surrounding areas gathered at JS Luwansa Hotel for U-Go Innovation Night, a special event held to welcome U-Go Founder Mr. John Wood and representative Ms. Amy Powell. The evening brought together stories, science, and spirit to celebrate young women’s courage to lead and dream.
Opening with laughter and ice-breaking games, the event quickly fostered warmth and camaraderie. Ms. Ivi Anggraeni offered heartfelt remarks and a powerful reflection on Kartini Day—a celebration of Indonesian women’s potential and resilience in shaping a better future.
One of the most touching moments came from graduating scholars who courageously shared their journeys—stories of persistence, gratitude, and the hope that carried them through. Their words served as powerful reminders of the impact education and community support can create.
The evening’s highlight was the Ask John Anything session, where participants were invited to engage directly with Mr. John Wood. Their questions reflected curiosity, boldness, and admiration. In return, John’s humble and spirited responses offered both wisdom and encouragement.
Equally inspiring were four science projects presented by the scholars—hands-on innovations led by young women eager to use science to solve real-world problems. From a vibrant “Lava Mountain” demo to creative experiments, the presentations showcased brilliance, bravery, and boundless imagination.
Laughter continued through a puppet show and an impromptu flashmob, injecting even more joy into the night. Just before dinner, each scholar penned a note of gratitude and hope addressed to Mr. John and the U-Go team. These colorful sticky notes were then assembled into a “wall of dreams,” symbolizing the voices, aspirations, and impact that U-Go continues to nurture.
More than just an event, U-Go Innovation Night was a testament to the power of belonging, the magic of community, and the ripple effect of belief. It reminded everyone in the room that every girl’s voice matters, every dream deserves support, and that meaningful change begins with connection.
