Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ervina, who was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Currently, I am a second year student in nursing at Gadjah Mada University. 

Being someone who is entering the health sector for the first time in my family is not an easy thing. This is caused by a lack of knowledge about the field and the fear of stigma that exists in society. This condition made me not dare to move forward before finally finding a glimmer of hope from this scholarship.

For me, this U-GO scholarship is not just a scholarship, but a valuable thing that makes me dare to step forward to achieve what I aspire to. U-Go scholarship comes at the right time, when I am confused about whether there is a way to realize all the dreams I have. Here, I am not only getting a new family who can work together to make every dream come true, but I also feel moral support. A warm feeling that can accompany every step towards my dream.

Thank you for the support that kept me up until this phase. I would not have the same access to an amazing education that provides great opportunities for learning and growth if it were not for your generosity. I am now reaching my 2nd year at Gadjah Mada University and I can truly express how wonderful this experience has been. I believe that I have grown and changed so much over the last years because I have met many people who have positively influenced who I am today.

Women’s education is a fundamental human right. It encompasses the right for women and girls to have access to quality education, without discrimination based on gender. Promoting women’s education is crucial for achieving gender equality, empowering women economically and socially, and improving overall societal development.
